Certifications

Robert Brunet

Robert earned a B.E.Sc. (1995) and M.E.Sc. (1999) in Chemical and BioChemical Engineering, both from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.

Robert worked in Research & Development and held senior management positions for a manufacturer of water treatment equipment, where he was listed as principal inventor on several US and international patents. He worked for a patent law firm for a number of years before founding Brunet & Co. Robert's practice is mainly focused on preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications for Canadian and international clients. He also provides intellectual property strategic consulting and portfolio management services for his corporate clients.

Robert is registered to practice before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.

Hans Koenig

Hans holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Saskatchewan (1984) and an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Guelph (1986). He also received a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto (1990). 

After teaching chemistry in the public school and college systems, Hans became a patent examiner at the Canadian Patent Office, where he worked for 7 years before becoming a Registered Canadian Patent Agent in 1999. 

Since then he has worked as a commercialization officer at Environment Canada, as a patent agent in the private sector and as an in-house patent agent for the National Research Council of Canada until joining the firm in 2013.  

He has extensive experience prosecuting patents in diverse fields of technology including the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and mechanical arts.  

Hans is a Registered Canadian and U.S. Patent Agent and is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.

Paul Belanger

Paul has gained extensive experience in all aspects of trademark law and licensing over the past 30 years of professional practice. He is exceptionally skilled in trademark procurement and registration and the management of trademark portfolios in Canada and internationally.

Paul is a Registered Canadian Trademark Agent and is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
